Athletics and football agree on how to share the Can Dragó facilities

The arrival of the four-striped club will require schedules, access and activities to be reorganised at one of the main sports complexes in northern Barcelona. The aim is to reduce disruption and ensure that athletics training and competitions can continue throughout the season.

The agreement establishes coordination mechanisms between the two organisations to prevent football matches from interfering more than necessary with the track's usual operation. The needs of athletes, schools and users who train at the venue every day will also be taken into account.

As part of the agreement, UE Sant Andreu will provide resources to strengthen the adapted athletics section of Club Atletisme Nou Barris. Support will also extend to the Special Olympics team and programmes aimed at children with functional diversity.

Club Atletisme Nou Barris will also gain visibility during Sant Andreu matches. Its image will appear on the LED advertising installed at the matches the team plays in Nou Barris, giving greater exposure to its sporting and inclusive activity.

The two organisations will create a monitoring committee to resolve possible incidents. Their representatives will review compliance with schedules, the safety of access points and the compatibility of matches with competitions scheduled on the track.

The athletics club maintains that Can Dragó must continue to be a priority space for this discipline. It will therefore ensure that the changes are temporary and that the facilities return to their usual operation once the Narcís Sala works are completed.

The agreement will allow UE Sant Andreu to maintain its activity without halting Can Dragó's sports programmes. For users of the complex, the main new development will be a season with more activity and some timetable adjustments, but also with new investment in adapted sport and inclusion.
