Alcalá de Henares regains water after an outage that disrupted neighbourhood life
The water supply is beginning to recover in Alcalá de Henares after more than 24 hours of disruption. The City Council has confirmed that the main fault has now been resolved, although normality will return progressively to all homes.
During the day, the lack of water forced residents and businesses to reorganise their routines. Buying large water containers and using improvised solutions became widespread across different neighbourhoods, while some people chose to travel to other areas to meet basic needs.

The incident originated in a fault in the network managed by the Mancomunidad de Aguas del Sorbe, which supplies several municipalities in the surrounding area. A problem with a main valve affected supply across the whole area.
