The wind threatens to disrupt the routine of those who live or travel along the central coast and Tarragona. Civil Protection is keeping the Ventcat plan alert active in view of forecasts for intense gusts that could complicate mobility and safety on the street, especially from the early hours of Monday.
During Sunday, the wind has given a small respite, but forecasts point to a new spell of strength in the coming hours. The counties of Anoia, Alt Penedès and Baix Penedès will be the first to feel the increase, with gusts that could catch out those driving on the road or moving through open areas.
On Monday morning, the situation will extend across much of the Barcelona and Tarragona coast and pre-coastal area. Extra caution is recommended when travelling, on terraces and in outdoor activities, as the wind could strengthen even further in the afternoon in Anoia, Alt Penedès and areas of the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees.
As for the sea, although the warning for heavy swell has ended, waves could reach 2.5 metres until midday, making it necessary to remain alert on beaches and in ports. In addition, avalanche risk remains high in the Aran area and the northern strip of Pallaresa, where the Allaucat plan remains at level 4 out of 5, and at level 3 in the remaining mountain sectors.
