Badalona takes on Vigo with a 43-metre tree and a record Christmas in 2025
The city is investing €2.5 million in a historic Christmas, with a 43-metre giant tree, daily shows and one million LED lights throughout Badalona.
Badalona aims this year to compete with Vigo for the title of Spain's most spectacular Christmas. The city council will allocate 2.5 million euros to festivities that will include the return of the iconic 43-metre “super tree”, lit by one million LED lights spread across the city.
The official switch-on will be held on 22 November in Plaça del President Tarradellas, where there will be light and music shows every day. In addition, the general lighting will be inaugurated the previous day with a contemporary circus show, live music and aerial dance. The entire lighting system will be environmentally sustainable, reinforcing the municipality's environmental commitment.
This Christmas's programme includes a renewed Cabalgata de Reyes Magos, a monumental nativity scene inspired by Montserrat and a new Fábrica de Caramelos de Papá Noel with projections and free distribution of sweets. The Fira Gastronòmica de Nadal and the traditional ice rink, one of the activities most eagerly awaited by families, will also be held.
With these proposals, Badalona seeks to consolidate itself as a Christmas benchmark in Catalunya, boosting festive and tourist activity throughout December and the beginning of January.
