FC Barcelona has become the leading figure of the 16th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards 2025, held this Sunday the 28th at the Atlantis The Royal Hotel de Dubái. The blaugrana club swept the category devoted to LaLiga, taking all the awards for the 2024-2025 season and consolidating its dominance in Spanish football.
In total, Barça collected six awards in the LaLiga section. Hansi Flick was recognised as best coach, while Raphinha received the award for best player, accepting it via video. Lamine Yamal, present at the gala alongside Joan Laporta, received two awards: best young footballer under 23 and best winger of the season, as well as the Maradona award for the player with the most talent.
The club was also distinguished as the best men’s and women’s team of the year, confirming its hegemony in both the men’s and women’s sections. Aitana Bonmatí was chosen as best player, adding another recognition to her brilliant career.
Andrés Iniesta, the now-retired blaugrana legend, received an emotional tribute for his entire football career, collecting the special award for his career.
The gala also honoured other leading figures in international football. Ousmane Dembélé and Luis Enrique Martínez, both of PSG, were recognised as the season’s best footballer and best coach respectively. PSG was named best team, and Nasser Al-Khelaifi best president. Portugal, represented by Cristiano Ronaldo, was chosen as best national team, while Ronaldo himself received the award for best player in the Middle East.
Paul Pogba was honoured for his return to football, Jorge Mendes as best representative, and Diogo Jota received a posthumous recognition. Tennis player Novak Djokovic was distinguished with the Global Sports Award, presented by Cristiano Ronaldo.
