Barcelona faces three days of rising heat: Friday will reach 35 degrees

This Wednesday the 12th, the fully summery conditions continue, with clear skies for almost the entire day and no chance of rain. The minimum temperature will be around 25 degrees, so the night will once again be tropical and sleeping without air conditioning will remain difficult across much of the city.

Thursday the 13th will bring few changes in the sky, but slightly more heat. Highs of 33 degrees and lows of 26 are expected, with sunny conditions and a feels-like temperature that could at times approach 35 degrees. Humidity will continue to increase the muggy feeling, especially near the coast.

Friday will bring the hottest spell of this part of the week. Aemet forecasts up to 35 degrees in Barcelona and is keeping a yellow warning active on the coast between 13:00 and 21:00. The minimum will again be around 26 degrees, bringing another especially warm night.

The sky will begin to show a little more variability on Friday, with cloudy intervals and a small chance of an isolated shower. In any case, rain will not be the main feature and the heat will continue to clearly define the day.

Ultraviolet radiation will also remain at very high levels, with an index of 8 forecast for these days. Avoiding the middle hours for exercise, drinking water frequently and seeking cool spaces in the afternoon will be especially important, above all for older people, children and vulnerable people.

Barcelona will therefore reach the August bank holiday after three days of rising temperatures and nights that will barely allow the city to cool down. Friday will be the most demanding day, with the thermometer approaching 35 degrees and heat remaining very much present even after sunset.
