Barcelona faces a weekend of sun, heat and a summer atmosphere

Barcelona faces a clearly summery weekend, with sun, high temperatures and little chance of rain. Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June will be marked by stable weather that favours outdoor plans, beaches and terrace activities.

Saturday will be a day of intense sunshine from the morning. Temperatures will range from a low of 21 degrees to a high of 31 degrees, with a notable sensation of heat in the middle hours of the day, especially away from the sea breeze.

Sunday will maintain a very similar pattern. The sky will remain sunny, although with some cloudy intervals, and temperatures will again approach 31 degrees. The minimum will be slightly higher, around 21 degrees, so the night will also have a mild atmosphere.

Rain will not be the main feature this weekend. The forecast points to two dry days, with no significant rainfall, which will make travel and outdoor plans easier, from walks along the coast to outdoor cultural and gastronomic activities.

The key will be solar radiation. With high or very high levels, it will be advisable to use sun protection, sunglasses and a cap if you are going to spend time at the beach, in parks or in open areas such as the seafront, Montjuïc or Port Vell.

The beaches may be one of the main places drawing crowds. The weather will be suitable for swimming or spending the afternoon by the sea, although it will be advisable to avoid the hours of greatest exposure and seek shade, especially with children, older people or pets.

The heat will also be felt on public transport and when travelling around the city. Metro, buses and very busy streets can feel more onerous around midday, so bringing plans forward or leaving them until late afternoon may be a good strategy.

The weekend arrives with a comfortable forecast for enjoying the city, but with a clear summer warning. There will be no major weather surprises, but there will be enough sun and heat to plan the day well, stay hydrated and not underestimate the middle hours.
