Barcelona announces price increases for Bicing y Zoo in 2026 but freezes other prices

The Ayuntamiento de Barcelona has approved new municipal rates for 2026, introducing significant changes to several key city services.

The Bicing bike service will see an approximate 15% increase in the price per journey, although subscription costs will remain unchanged. Meanwhile, the Zoo de Barcelona will raise its ticket prices by around 7%, marking the first increase in seven years. However, prices for access to Tibidabo and Park Güell will remain frozen.

Rates for social services, commercial and industrial waste collection, and services at district centres will be adjusted in line with the consumer price index. In addition, fixed prices will be set for renting spaces in municipal markets, and a gradual increase is planned for cremation costs in the city’s cemeteries.

These measures aim to adapt municipal prices to the current economic reality, maintaining a balance between service sustainability and public access.
