Barcelona will renew its buses with more sustainable vehicles
Barcelona is preparing a fresh renewal of its bus fleet for 2026 and 2027. TMB will present its plan to acquire new vehicles with a commitment focused on sustainability, improved service and lower emissions in a network that is part of the daily routine of thousands of residents.
The presentation will take place on Tuesday 14 July, at 9:30, at TMB's Zona Franca depot. The first deputy mayor and president of TMB, Laia Bonet, will be responsible for detailing the planned investment and the characteristics of the new buses.
The renewal comes at a key moment for Barcelona's public transport. The city needs to move more people with fewer emissions, improve frequencies on high-demand corridors and strengthen neighbourhoods where the bus remains the most direct connection to the metro, train, health centres, work areas and facilities.
