Barcelona starts the countdown to the Tour de France with a unique celebration
On 26 March, Barcelona will hold an open celebration on Passeig Lluís Companys. The city is preparing for the Grand Départ of the 2026 Tour de France with activities, music and tributes. The event will mark the start of the 100 days before the historic cycling event.
Barcelona is preparing for one of the key moments in the sporting calendar: on Thursday 26 March, the official 100-day countdown to the Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2026 in the city begins. From 18:00 on Passeig Lluís Companys, there will be a party open to all, with activities for all ages: recreational circuits for children and families that promote cycling as a sustainable and healthy option. The central event will be the activation of a large clock marking the 100 days ahead, while emblematic buildings are lit up in yellow, the Tour’s iconic colour, creating a festive atmosphere in the public space.
Historic Barcelona cycling clubs such as Sport Ciclista Català, Agrupació Ciclista Montjuïc, Unió Esportiva de Sants and Club Ciclista de Gràcia will be honoured. Music will close the day: Doctor Prats will premiere the official song “Energia!” and offer a live concert that will turn the promenade into a large collective stage.
