Festa de la Ciència takes over central Barcelona this weekend
Barcelona turns into a major space for experimentation this weekend. Festa de la Ciència once again fills the centre with activities, with more than 180 proposals split between the El Born. Museu d’Història de Barcelona and Plaça Comercial, two key points in the Born neighbourhood.
On Saturday 18 April, from 11:00 to 20:00, the programme offers workshops, games and interactive experiences designed for all audiences. Younger people will be able to take part in challenges such as a science Escape Room, while families will find activities to learn in a practical and fun way.
From the afternoon onwards, the focus shifts to adult audiences. Between 19:00 and 23:00, the Neurodesconcert show combines music and neuroscience in a proposal that mixes outreach and live culture.
On Sunday 19, the activity continues in the same family format, also extending the route to spaces such as Centre Martorell d’Exposicions and Hivernacle del Parc de la Ciutadella, which will open with free admission and special activities.
This edition focuses on the brain, alongside the European neuroscience conference FENS Forum, and also adds content related to architecture, in line with Barcelona’s role as an international capital in this field.
For two days, the city changes pace and brings science to the street. Workshops, shows and open spaces turn El Born and the Ciutadella into a meeting point where learning blends with direct experience and discovery.
