Barcelona faces warmer, more stable days after the latest rain
Barcelona wakes this Wednesday to weather much calmer than in recent days. After several episodes of rain and instability in Catalonia, the city is now entering a more stable phase, with partially clear skies and temperatures beginning to rise little by little. The atmosphere will be clearly more spring-like and much more comfortable for outdoor plans.
During this Wednesday, the high will be around 24 degrees, with lows close to 16. No significant rain is expected in Barcelona and conditions during the middle hours of the day will be pleasant, especially in open areas such as the coast, Montjuïc or urban parks.
On Thursday, the heat will take another small step up. The forecast points to highs of around 26 degrees and skies with sun and some clouds, a combination already beginning to sound like a prelude to summer. For those who work outdoors or travel on foot at midday, the difference from last week will be clear.
The improvement comes after a start to the week marked by warnings of heavy rain in several parts of Catalunya. On Monday, AEMET issued warnings for heavy precipitation in Barcelona and especially in Girona, although the situation is now tending to stabilise and rain is becoming less prominent in the Catalan capital.
Barcelona is thus entering one of those stretches of May when the city changes mood quickly. Just a few days ago, people had to check the radar before leaving; now, the plan once again involves sunglasses, light clothing and long afternoons away from home. It is not summer yet, but over the next few days it will resemble it quite closely.
