Barcelona launches a digital platform that brings together more than 60 museums in one place. The new portal makes it easier to discover exhibitions, activities and events in real time. The city’s cultural experience is changing for residents and visitors. Centralised access, up-to-date information and a personalised agenda. An indispensable tool for not missing anything.
Those looking for cultural plans in Barcelona will no longer have to jump from website to website or get lost among scattered listings. From today, the city has a digital portal that brings together the offer of more than 60 public and private museums, making it easier to access collections, exhibitions and activities in a single click. This development transforms the way visits are planned and proposals discovered, both for those who live here and for those who arrive attracted by Barcelona’s heritage.
The initiative, promoted by the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona and financed with European funds, responds to growing demand: to centralise information and remove barriers between institutions. The portal, available in three languages, integrates major landmarks such as Museu Picasso and Casa Batlló alongside less well-known spaces, making it possible to compare, filter and explore the cultural agenda in an intuitive, up-to-date way.
Beyond a simple directory, the platform works as a living agenda: temporary exhibitions, family activities, special events and educational proposals are updated every day. Users can see in real time what is happening at places such as Castell de Montjuïc, CaixaForum and the Moco Museum, and access practical details to organise their visit.
The portal also centralises major events such as La Nit dels Museus, Barcelona Dibuixa and the special programmes for Christmas, summer and La Mercè. Its own editorial team guarantees the quality and relevance of content designed for local audiences, tourists and schools alike. In addition, those wishing to stay up to date can subscribe to a monthly newsletter with the most notable new developments.
The scale of the project is reflected in the diversity of integrated spaces: from municipal museums to private and jointly managed centres, all under one interface. The result is a tool that simplifies the cultural experience and strengthens Barcelona’s international standing as a city of museums.
The Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB) is the municipal body responsible for coordinating the city’s cultural life. Since its creation, it has promoted projects that bring heritage and creativity closer to residents, focusing on innovation and accessibility. Its role has been key in the digital transformation of cultural facilities and in consolidating Barcelona as a European benchmark in cultural management.
