Barcelona launches €10 million in aid to modernise homes
Barcelona City Council is launching a new line of aid for the energy renovation of homes. The €10 million investment will allow thousands of residents to improve their homes and reduce energy consumption.
The grants will be intended for measures such as replacing windows, improving building envelopes and replacing old climate-control systems with more efficient options. The aim is to increase comfort at home and reduce dependence on polluting energy sources.
The measure follows the budget agreement between PSC and ERC and forms part of a broader strategy to adapt the housing stock. A large part of the city's buildings does not meet current efficiency criteria, leaving room for improvement.
