Barcelona promotes a major urban transformation in Trinitat Nova

The plan provides for the construction of a municipal sports centre on a 2,000 m² plot and two blocks containing around 140 protected homes, at least half of them for rent. The new layout replaces the initial design and seeks better integration with the surroundings and Via Favència avenue.

The intervention includes a large square above the TMB facilities, designed as a meeting point with rest and play areas, and a lower garden adapted to the slope of the land. Both spaces will be connected by a structure that will make pedestrian routes easier.

The project also resolves complex technical challenges, such as integrating transport infrastructure, adapting to the existing sewer collector and building a flood-control tank. In addition, commercial premises will be incorporated on the ground floor to invigorate neighbourhood life.

This development responds to long-standing demands from local residents and reinforces the urban regeneration model in Trinitat Nova. It directly affects current and future residents, improving access to affordable housing, facilities and quality public spaces. In the coming months, the project will continue through its approval process before work begins.
