Barcelona sends off its largest humanitarian convoy to Kyiv today with 8 generators and 2 fire engines
On 27 March, Barcelona sent its fourth and largest humanitarian convoy to Kyiv with 8 electric generators, 2 fire engines provided by the Port, and equipment for people with reduced mobility.

Today Barcelona has taken a decisive step in its commitment to Ukraine by organising the largest municipal humanitarian convoy since the conflict began. This morning, Mayor Jaume Collboni, accompanied by key members of the local government and representatives of the Port of Barcelona, personally saw off the shipment leaving for Kyiv loaded with essential logistical material.
Confirmed (27 Mar 2026): 4th Barcelona City Council humanitarian convoy to Kyiv (leaving today; 8 electric generators + 2 Port of Barcelona fire engines + IMPD reduced-mobility equipment; 8 firefighters to Poland). The urgency of the situation in Ukraine, marked by attacks on energy infrastructure, has led the City Council to prioritise the delivery of eight electric generators and several emergency vehicles. In the last month, another seven generators had already been sent, thus reinforcing the Ukrainian capital’s capacity to maintain basic services amid the crisis.
This convoy stands out not only for its scale, but also for the variety of resources: two heavy urban fire engines donated by the Port of Barcelona, generators of different capacities supplied by private companies and specific equipment for people with reduced mobility, thanks to the collaboration of the Banc del Moviment del Institut Municipal de Persones amb Discapacitat. Eight Barcelona firefighters will be responsible for transporting the material to Poland, the entry point to Ukraine.
