AEMET yellow warning for rain on Barcelona's coast: showers and storms until early Saturday morning

The weather is becoming complicated again in Barcelona. Persistent rain and very strong wind gusts are expected. The change in weather will affect the city for several days. Temperatures will barely vary. The wind could disrupt daily routines.

The return of rain and wind threatens to disrupt everyday life in Barcelona. After a winter that has already broken rainfall records, the city faces a new spell of meteorological instability that could affect journeys, outdoor activities and the perceived temperature in the streets.

The almost simultaneous arrival of two low-pressure systems will bring umbrellas out again in the Catalan capital. Since early this morning, the sky has been grey and the first drops have begun to fall in different neighbourhoods. As the morning progresses, rain will intensify and spread across the city, reaching its peak between afternoon and night, when thunderstorms and heavy showers cannot be ruled out.

Temperatures will remain stable, with highs between 14 and 16 degrees, but the wind will take centre stage: gusts that could exceed 80 km/h are expected, especially in exposed areas and near the coast. This situation could cause disruptions to transport and urban mobility.

Thursday night into Friday will be particularly rainy, and instability will continue on Friday, although there may be occasional clear spells after midday. Temperatures will fall slightly, with highs between 13 and 15 degrees, and the wind, although somewhat less intense, will continue to blow strongly, with gusts of up to 60 km/h.

Saturday will bring partial relief: rain will be more intermittent and alternate with periods of clear sky. The wind will lose intensity, leaving residual gusts of 20 to 25 km/h. Temperatures will remain around 14 degrees.

On Sunday, conditions will tend to stabilise. Only weak, isolated precipitation will remain, with more periods of sunshine and temperatures between 13 and 15 degrees. The wind will virtually disappear, allowing normality to return to the city.
