An unusually hot Friday sends temperatures soaring in Barcelona
Barcelona is getting ready for a Friday that will change the pace of the city. Temperatures will rise in a way that's unusual for April and will exceed 25 ºC in most neighbourhoods, with a distinctly summery feel.
From early in the morning, the weather will be mild. The usual chill will disappear and the day will begin with gentle temperatures that will rise rapidly through the morning.
The peak of the heat will arrive around 15:00. In inland areas and elevated neighbourhoods, thermometers could reach 27 or even 28 ºC, while on the coast the sea breeze will slightly temper the perceived temperature.
The sky will remain mostly clear, although there will be suspended dust. This phenomenon will give the atmosphere a hazy appearance and may affect air quality during the middle hours of the day.
The summer-like feeling will continue into the night, which will be mild and conducive to outdoor plans. Terraces, walks and beaches will regain an atmosphere typical of late spring.
The change will come soon. From Sunday, a colder air mass will return temperatures to their usual values, with more clouds and the possibility of light rain.
