Barcelona prepares for a historic edition of the Llum BCN 2026 festival

The Llum BCN festival returns to Sant Martí from 6 to 8 February 2026. Twelve artists and eighteen university schools will transform the district with light installations. The city will experience nights full of creativity and surprises. The event promises unique experiences and an opening with key figures from the local cultural scene.

Barcelona will shine brightly again in February 2026. The Llum BCN festival is celebrating its 15th edition and will turn Sant Martí into a laboratory of art and light for three nights. Those strolling through the district between 6 and 8 February will discover striking installations, created by twelve renowned artists and eighteen university schools of design, art and architecture. Under the theme «Night landscapes», the city will fill with proposals that fuse contemporary art, scenography and technology, inviting people to experience the night in a completely new way.

The atmosphere in Sant Martí will be electric. On Friday and Saturday, activities will run from seven in the evening until midnight, while on Sunday they will finish at eleven. The official opening will take place on Friday the 6th at six in the evening in the foyer of Disseny Hub Barcelona, with institutional representatives and key figures from Barcelona's cultural landscape in attendance. The event will mark the beginning of a weekend in which creativity and innovation will take centre stage.

On Saturday the 7th, at one in the afternoon, the Disseny Hub auditorium will host a special conference looking back over the festival's fifteen-year history. Leading voices from the sector will take part, analysing Llum BCN's impact on the arts scene and its role as a meeting point for creators and professionals. The event aims to open a space for reflection on the future of light arts in the city.

In the days before the festival, the media will be able to access the final preparations and the installations while they are being assembled. On Thursday 5 February, the festival curator and one of the participating artists will speak to the press at two emblematic locations, allowing exclusive images of the works to be captured before their premiere. To cover the event or arrange interviews, it will be necessary to request accreditation in advance and follow the organisers' instructions.

The accreditation collection point will be available on Friday and Saturday, facilitating access for those wishing to report on one of Barcelona's most eagerly anticipated cultural events of the year. Expectations are growing as the date approaches, and everything suggests that this edition of Llum BCN will leave its mark on the city's collective memory.
