Les Corts will have a renovated park with more greenery and sports areas
Barcelona has begun renovating the Jardines Bacardí, a key park in Les Corts located next to Camp Nou. The project aims to improve the use of the space with more green areas, sports facilities, and spaces designed for both residents and visitors.
Work will begin in September and is expected to last about a year. Even so, the park will remain open during matches, continuing to serve as a meeting point for fans and local residents.
The project will reorganise the space into several areas. A large central area for events will be created, alongside new children's play areas and an outdoor gym with sports equipment.
The pétanque area will also be expanded, and new green spaces will be added where there is currently parking. The aim is to reduce the impact of intensive use and improve coexistence in the park.
The area around Camp Nou has made this space a key spot on days with large crowds. The renovation seeks to balance that use with the needs of the neighbourhood, especially during times of greater pressure.
For the residents of Les Corts, the change will be noticeable: more rest areas, better distribution of space, and a park designed both for everyday use and for times when the area fills with people.
