Barcelona buzzes with the Papanoelada Motera Solidaria and fills its streets with hope

Some 2,000 motorbikes flooded Barcelona’s streets this Sunday in the Papanoelada Motera Solidaria, an annual event that has already become a Christmas tradition in the city. The event, which aims to raise funds for families and children in vulnerable situations, set off at 16:45 from Carrer dels Tarongers in Montjuïc.
The motorbike convoy travelled through some of Barcelona’s most emblematic points, such as Plaça Espanya, Gran Via, Via Laietana and Moll de la Fusta, until it reached Hotel W in the heart of Barceloneta. During the route, the Guardia Urbana adapted the traffic operation to minimise disruption and guarantee the safety of pedestrians and participants.
Municipal sources indicated that the police force would act against any infringement detected during the procession, which each year brings together more and more charitable motorcyclists. The Papanoelada Motera Solidaria has the support of associations, foundations and hospitals, which work together to make Christmas more special for those who need it most.
