Barcelona will have a hot, rain-free first weekend of August
Barcelona will welcome August with a fully summery weekend. Stable weather will continue to dominate the city, with virtually clear skies, high temperatures and no rain, an ideal setting for enjoying the beach, terraces or outdoor activities, although the heat will once again make itself felt during the middle hours of the day.
Saturday 1 August is expected to be sunny, with temperatures ranging from a low of 26 degrees to a high of 31. Winds from the sea will help to slightly ease the perceived temperature during the afternoon, although humidity will keep conditions muggy, especially near the coast.
On Sunday 2 August, the heat will increase slightly. Thermometers will reach around 32 degrees, while lows will remain close to 27 degrees, bringing another tropical night to the city. The sky will remain clear or with a few insignificant high clouds, and no precipitation is expected.
The hottest hours will once again be concentrated between midday and the early afternoon. Those planning to tour the centre, visit Montjuïc, walk along the seafront or play sport will find conditions much more pleasant early in the morning or at dusk.
The combination of high temperatures and humidity will make it feel hotter than the thermometers indicate. It is therefore advisable to stay well hydrated, seek out shaded areas and limit sun exposure during the most intense hours.
Barcelona’s beaches will once again be one of the main refuges from the heat, although high attendance is also expected in parks, on terraces and in cultural spaces as people make the most of the good weather. The absence of rain will favour the holding of activities and events scheduled for the first weekend of August.
Everything points to the start of the month maintaining the typical Barcelona summer pattern: sunny days, very warm conditions, tropical nights and stable weather that will allow people to enjoy the city, always adapting their schedules to avoid the hottest hours.
