BeerMad changes venue and will be free next to the Planetarium from 25 to 27 September
BeerMad changes venue this September. The craft beer fair will be held from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 on Avenida del Planetario, next to Enrique Tierno Galván Park and the Mercado de Productores, with free entry and a selection of more than 200 beer styles.
The change of venue is one of the main new features of this edition. BeerMad leaves the Pabellón de Cristal de Casa de Campo behind and moves to an open-air space in Arganzuela, at the corner of avenida del Planetario and calle Meneses. The organisers present the new venue as a more intimate, family-friendly format.
Entry will be free, but anyone wishing to drink beer will have to buy the official glass for €3. On Friday it will open from 17:00 to 23:00, on Saturday from 11:00 to 23:00 and on Sunday from 11:00 to 19:00. Stalls will stop serving food and drink half an hour before closing.
The organisers announce 50 breweries and more than 200 styles. Confirmed Madrid brands include Capaz, CCVK, The One, La Chula, La Caníbal, Oso Brewing, Cerveza Salvaje, La Vicalvarada and Ska-P, alongside projects from other regions and international offerings.
The programme will not be limited to the taps. There will be food, live music, guided and paired tastings, and other activities related to beer culture. The tastings already have published times: there will be sessions on Friday at 19:00, Saturday at 13:15 and 19:00, and Sunday at 13:15.
Although the festival is aimed mainly at adults, minors may enter when accompanied. BeerMad also announces free children’s entertainment on Saturday and Sunday mornings, with games, magic, face painting and other activities.
The location will make it possible to combine the festival with one of Arganzuela’s largest green spaces and is next to the same area where the Mercado de Productores del Planetario is usually held. The organisers recommend arriving by public transport and avoid presenting the event as an appointment dependent on the car.
BeerMad will thus reach its twelfth edition with a different formula from previous years: a new venue, free entry and an open-air site. The first session will begin on Friday the 25th at 17:00 and the final day will end on Sunday the 27th at 19:00.
