Bertín Osborne will give the opening address at the 2026 Virgen de la Paz festivities in Alcobendas

Alcobendas' patron saint festivities in honour of the Virgen de la Paz begin on 18 January 2026, with Bertín Osborne as the town crier. The popular singer and presenter will officially open the celebration from the balcony of the Centro Cívico del Distrito Centro, at an event featuring entertainment by Dj Pulpo and the traditional distribution of churros with hot chocolate for attendees.

The programme, presented by the Ayuntamiento and the Hermandad Nuestra Señora de la Paz, includes religious, cultural, musical, sporting and gastronomic activities. On 23 January, the Ofrenda Floral to the Virgen de la Paz will take place, with associations, schools and local bodies taking part. A mantle of flowers will be made from citizens' offerings on the façade of the Iglesia de San Pedro.

On Saturday 24 January, at 18:30, the Solemne Procesión of the Virgen de la Paz, one of the most well-attended events, will be held. The image will travel through the city centre, stopping for the traditional motetes, performed this year by Rocío Alba, Hakuna Group Music and the Coro de la Hermandad.

The Hermandad will award the Premio de la Paz a los valores Humanos 2026 to the Asociación Española de Esclerosis Lateral Amiotrófica (adELA), in recognition of its work supporting patients and families. The awards ceremony will be held on Monday 26 January.

Until 2 February, the Centro de Arte Alcobendas is hosting the exhibition '76 años de programas y anuarios de las fiestas de la Virgen de la Paz', which reviews seven decades of history and publications, including advertisements by local businesses from the 1960s. The Hermandad's programme and annual activities publication for 2025 were presented at the Auditorio Paco de Lucía, at an event chaired by the mayor Rocío García Alcántara and the Hermandad's president, Isabel Páramo.
