Bicimad will be free for one day in Madrid: a two-wheeled tribute to World Bicycle Day

Madrid celebrates World Bicycle Day by promoting electric and sustainable mobility: bicimad, the capital's public electric bicycle system, will offer free journeys all day. Anyone using the service between 00:00 and 23:59 will be able to travel without paying for journeys of up to half an hour. The promotion will be available both to existing users and to people who sign up that same day, at no additional cost. With more than 7,700 bicycles and 630 stations, bicimad is already part of the urban landscape. In 2024, it exceeded nine million journeys, and neighbourhoods such as Chamberí, Centro and Arganzuela lead daily use. This free day aims not only to commemorate the date, but also to invite new users to rediscover their city on two wheels and perhaps change the way they get around for good.
