Brihuega is dressed in lavender: the summer’s most fragrant train already has a date

July is synonymous with lavender in Brihuega, and this year it will once again be easier than ever to enjoy the spectacle. Renfe has announced the return of the Lavender Train, a special service connecting Madrid with Guadalajara in under an hour, offering a perfect getaway to see the fields in full bloom. The trip includes guided visits around the town, a stop at the Jardín de la Alcarria distillery and, of course, a walk among the violet rows that have made this corner of La Alcarria famous. Departures are scheduled for 3 and 10 July from Atocha and Chamartín, with tickets already available from €20. And for those wishing to extend the experience, the Lavender Festival will be held from 11 to 19 July, with live music among flowers and unique sunsets.
