Changes to Cercanías Madrid: special trains and night-time transfers on C-3
Renfe will alter the C-3 line service from 16 February due to works, with trains terminating at Villaverde Bajo from 21:00 and the introduction of special services and mandatory transfers.
Renfe has announced a significant adjustment to the C-3 line of Cercanías Madrid due to maintenance works being carried out by Adif between 16 February and 7 May. From 21:00, all C-3 trains will terminate at Villaverde Bajo, requiring passengers to alter their usual journeys.
To ensure mobility, Renfe will operate special trains between Aranjuez and Villaverde Bajo from 21:05, stopping at all intermediate stations. Three services in each direction will run every night until the end of service.
Passengers travelling towards Aranjuez from Atocha must take the C-4 line to Villaverde Bajo and transfer there to the special train. In the other direction, those travelling to Atocha or Chamartín from Aranjuez will also have to change trains at Villaverde Bajo and continue on the C-4.
Renfe has increased the presence of information, customer service and security staff at the stations of Aranjuez and Villaverde Bajo to assist passengers with the new night-time transfers. In addition, the company is informing people of these changes through its website, social media, WhatsApp and station and train public-address announcements.
