Carnival 2026 in Barcelona: discover all the parade routes and neighbourhoods

Barcelona is preparing for Carnival 2026 with more than 40 parades. Discover dates, neighbourhoods and special activities. Check the map of routes and timetables. Prepare for traffic disruptions and surprises in every district. Are you going to miss it?

Carnival 2026 arrives in Barcelona with an explosion of colour and celebration in every neighbourhood. More than 40 parades will flood the city, from Sant Andreu to Horta, Sants, Poble-sec, Poblenou and the Dreta de l’Eixample. The traditional Arribo will mark the start of the celebration, followed by routes full of costumes, music and parallel activities.

Most of the parades will take place on Saturday 14 February, although some neighbourhoods bring the festivities forward or delay them. The event will affect traffic and several bus routes, so it is recommended to check the updated routes and timetables.

The Arribo del Carnestoltes will kick off proceedings on 12 February, coinciding with Dijous Gras. In addition to the official parades, many schools organise their own routes, adding even more festive atmosphere to the streets.

The districts of Ciutat Vella, Sant Martí, Nou Barris and Horta-Guinardó have the largest number of parades, with seven routes each in 2025. Sant Andreu follows closely with five, while Les Corts will have only one route this year. The interactive map lets you check all the routes by neighbourhood.

Some neighbourhoods surprise with unique proposals. In Poblenou, the nighttime costume parade runs along Ciutat de Granada street. Barceloneta holds its Carnavalada one week after the bulk of the parades. After the routes, many squares host hot-chocolate gatherings, costume contests, concerts and batucadas, as in Porta, Sarrià or Teixonera.
