Poble-sec Carnival 2026: date, time and route of the grand parade

The Poble-sec neighbourhood is preparing to experience one of the year’s most eagerly awaited events: the Rua de Carnaval 2026. Unlike most parades in Barcelona, which will take place on Saturday 14 February, the celebration in Poble-sec is brought forward to Friday afternoon, 13 February.

The celebration will begin at 17:00 in Plaça del Sortidor, where attendees can enjoy hot chocolate and the Carnestoltes proclamation. The festive atmosphere will be felt from the first moment, with families and neighbours ready to walk through the neighbourhood’s streets.

The parade route will follow the same itinerary as in 2025. It will begin at Plaça del Sortidor, continue along Carrer Magalhaes, Carrer Mare de Déu del Remei and Carrer Font Honrada, and end at Plaça de Santa Madrona. It is a route designed so that all participants can enjoy the colour and music.

In addition to the parade, the day will include a fancy-dress competition and activities for the whole family. It is organised by Centre Cívic el Sortidor, the Comisión de Santa Madrona, the Pla Comunitari, the Ludoteca Poble-sec, the Comisión Jove, the Comerciantes del Poble-sec and the Centre Cultural Albareda, among other neighbourhood groups.

For those wishing to keep celebrating, other Barcelona neighbourhoods will also have their own Carnival parades, including Nou Barris, les Corts, Sants, Hostafrancs, la Bordeta, Sant Andreu, Gràcia, Gòtic, Sant Antoni, Eixample, Horta-Guinardó, Sagrera, Clot, Carmel, Barceloneta, Fort Pienc and Poblenou.
