Catalonia has no luck in the 2025 Christmas Lottery and barely recovers 3%
Catalonia has barely won prizes in the 2025 Christmas Lottery. It has recovered only 2.9% of what was invested. Barcelona and other cities have received minimal sums. Discover which municipalities have had some luck. Who have been this year's big Catalan winners?
The 2025 Christmas Lottery draw has left Catalonia virtually empty-handed. The region has received only €12.6 million in major prizes, a figure representing just 2.9% of the €428.12 million invested in tenths. Neither the top prize nor the second prize has landed on Catalan soil, leaving players with a bitter taste and far from recovering what they staked.
The town with the most to celebrate was Sant Boi de Llobregat, where one lottery outlet in the Marianao neighbourhood distributed 15 series of the third prize (90,693) and another of a fourth prize (25,508), adding up to €7.7 million. Badalona follows with €2 million thanks to 10 series of another fourth prize (78,477). Barcelona, for its part, has received only €376,000, most of it distributed by the lottery outlet at the Glòries shopping centre, with one series of 25,508 worth €200,000. In addition, the capital distributed two series of fifth prizes (23,112 and 61,366), one tenth of the third prize at Las Arenas and one ticket numbered 77,715, adding up to very modest amounts.
The third prize was the only major award to smile on Catalonia, leaving €9.1 million. El Prat de Llobregat and Sant Joan de les Abadesses received half a million each, while seven winning tenths were sold in Cadaqués, worth €350,000 in total. Other municipalities such as Monistrol de Montserrat, Terrassa, Girona and Viella distributed prizes of €50,000 each.
As for the fourth prizes, Catalonia has received €3 million, with Badalona as the main beneficiary. Olot, Arenys de Mar, Sort and Sant Boi also received one series each, worth €200,000. The fifth prizes have left small amounts in Barcelona, Porqueres, Sort, Montgat, Viladecans, L’Hospitalet and Tarragona, with one €60,000 series in each locality. In El Prat de Llobregat, one tenth of number 77,715 distributed €6,000.
In summary, the 2025 edition has been particularly unfavourable for Catalonia, which has seen luck pass it by and only a few municipalities have been able to celebrate significant prizes. Most Catalan players will have to wait until next year to try to regain their hope and, with luck, something more of what they invested.
