Cercedilla organises a free workshop for beginners in mountain biking

This Thursday, 20 August, Cercedilla is offering an opportunity for those curious about trying mountain biking. The municipality is organising a free introductory MTB workshop that will combine basic techniques with a ride through its natural surroundings. Advance registration is required.

The activity will begin at 18:30 from the Municipal Sports Centre and will have the collaboration of Club Deportivo Vereda Alta. The idea is to bring this discipline closer to those who are not yet familiar with it and make use of Cercedilla's paths as terrain on which to put what has been learnt into practice.

During the outing, participants will be able to learn some of the basic techniques needed to manage on a mountain bike. The route will make it possible to transfer those first notions directly to the terrain, rather than limiting the activity to a theoretical session.

Taking part is free, although it is necessary to reserve a place in advance. Registration is carried out through the form enabled by Cercedilla Town Council, so it is advisable to complete that procedure before heading to the departure point.

The workshop comes in the final stretch of August, when the mountains become an alternative to the heat and to plans within the capital. For anyone who wants to swap terraces and swimming pools for a few hours on two wheels, the proposal makes it possible to try a new discipline without paying for the activity.

Cercedilla's sporting schedule also includes, this Wednesday the 19th, a 5x5 football tournament at the Multipurpose Court, scheduled from 20:00 and also subject to prior registration. They are two different proposals concentrated into barely two days for those who want to close the summer with some activity.

Cercedilla has in its paths and landscape one of its great attractions for outdoor sports, and the bicycle makes it possible to explore them in a way different from the usual walking routes. This Thursday, the starting point will be at the Sports Centre: at 18:30, it is time to swap hiking shoes for two wheels.
