Brutal collision between two high-speed trains in Córdoba leaves chaos and victims

A serious rail accident shook Adamuz (Córdoba) this Sunday at 19:39, when two high-speed trains collided and derailed, causing chaos and multiple victims. The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, reported that the impact was so violent that the first two units of the Renfe train were thrown off after colliding with an Iryo train heading for Madrid.

From Adif headquarters, Puente closely followed the development of the incident, describing it as a serious accident and noting that the information received was increasingly worrying. According to his account, the last units of the Iryo train derailed and encroached onto the opposite track, just as a Renfe train bound for Huelva was travelling there.

The minister stressed the severity of the impact and the impossibility, at that point, of confirming the exact number of victims. He insisted that the absolute priority was to assist those affected by the accident.

Sources at the Ministry of Transport confirmed that Óscar Puente contacted the president of the Andalusian regional government, Juanma Moreno, by telephone to coordinate the response. The Government highlighted the atmosphere of maximum collaboration between the authorities during these critical hours.
