The Premis Ciutat Vella are launched to highlight projects and residents of the district
The district of Ciutat Vella takes a significant step to showcase the work of its community with the launch of the Premis Ciutat Vella, awards that put people, organisations, and projects with strong local roots at the centre.
The initiative, promoted by the Pacte per Ciutat Vella, opens applications until 23 April and invites citizens to submit nominations that stand out for their impact on coexistence, culture or the district’s social development. The aim is clear: to recognise the everyday commitment that shapes life in the heart of Barcelona. A jury made up of institutional representatives and members of the association network will be responsible for assessing the proposals. The selection seeks to reflect the district’s diversity and ensure a plural and transparent choice.
In total, ten prizes of 1,000 euros each will be awarded, as well as special recognitions for organisations with outstanding track records, coinciding with key anniversaries such as 25, 50 or 75 years. The awards ceremony will take place on 8 June at the Auditori del Conservatori del Liceu, an emblematic space that will bring together the protagonists of this first edition.
The creation of these awards responds to a demand that emerged in neighbourhood debates and reinforces the idea of a more cohesive Ciutat Vella, where public recognition acts as a driving force for continuing to promote projects and strengthening the district’s social fabric.
