How to get to the Metropolitano to see Bad Bunny without losing your patience
For ten nights, Riyadh Air Metropolitano will become one of Madrid’s busiest places. Bad Bunny will perform at the stadium on 30 and 31 May, 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14 and 15 June, as part of his DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS World Tour. More than 600,000 attendees are expected across the residency, so choosing how to arrive, and especially how to return, can make all the difference.
The most direct option will be the metro. Estadio Metropolitano station, on line 7, is directly opposite the venue and will be the natural arrival point for most attendees. From the centre, the usual route will be to connect to line 7 at stations such as Avenida de América, Gregorio Marañón or Canal. It is convenient, but one thing should be assumed: when the concert ends, queues to enter the metro may be long.
Las Rosas or Canillejas can also be used as alternatives, combining the metro with a walk. They are not as immediate as Estadio Metropolitano, but may help avoid part of the crowd right at the exit. For those coming from the Corredor del Henares, a practical route is to take Cercanías to Coslada Central and connect there with line 7.
The bus can work well for those living in nearby neighbourhoods or preferring to avoid the metro bottleneck. Lines 28, 38, 48, 140, 153 and E2 connect the stadium area with places such as Manuel Becerra, Ciudad Lineal, Canillejas and Felipe II. The drawback is clear: on concert nights, surface traffic can slow the journey considerably.
Anyone travelling by car should plan ahead. Live Nation and Ticketmaster sell concert-related parking spaces, opening from 13:00 and with limited spaces. According to the published information, the price is 18 euros for cars and 11.5 euros for motorbikes. Arriving late may mean wasting a great deal of time looking for a space or becoming trapped in the approaches to the M-40, Avenida de Luis Aragonés and Avenida de Arcentales.
The timetable also matters. The organisers expect parking and cloakroom opening from 13:00, doors opening at 17:00, Chuwi performing at 19:00 and the Bad Bunny show starting at 20:00. The concert will last around three hours, so the exit will concentrate tens of thousands of people at once.
Taxis and VTCs can be useful for getting there, but not always for getting back. After the concert, demand will soar and there may be long waits, high prices on platforms and distant pick-up points because of road closures or crowds. If this option is chosen, the most sensible thing is to walk a few minutes away from the stadium before requesting a car.
The Metropolitano is already accustomed to major events, but ten consecutive nights of Bad Bunny are on another scale. For fans, the best advice is not sophisticated: arrive early, have the ticket or card ready, do not leave it until the last minute and assume that the return journey will be slower than the outward one. Madrid will not come to a halt because of the concert, but on those nights San Blas-Canillejas will operate at a different pace: more people, more traffic, more music and a transport network tested by one of the year’s biggest phenomena.
