How to get to MADRING: transport and access guide
In September 2026, Madrid will host the Gran Premio de España de Fórmula 1 for the first time in 45 years. The races will take place at the new MADRING street circuit, located in the northeast of the capital. Here’s how to plan your journey to the circuit, which public transport to choose, and what to keep in mind before you go.
From 11 to 13 September, Madrid will host the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix for the first time in 45 years. The races will take place at the new MADRING urban circuit, located in the north-east of the capital, near Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport.
The circuit can be reached by Metro, Cercanías commuter rail and EMT buses. Those who prefer to travel by car will have a dedicated car park with a free shuttle service to the circuit.
Before leaving, it is important to check which sector and fan zone the ticket is in. MADRING is divided into two areas that are not connected to each other. Therefore, the journey will depend on the part of the circuit that needs to be accessed.
Where is MADRING?
The circuit is in the north-east of Madrid, between the Valdebebas and Barajas areas, near IFEMA. The venue is divided into two sectors.
MADRING Norte is in Valdebebas, around Avenida de las Fuerzas Armadas and Avenida de Alejandro de la Sota.
MADRING Sur is next to the IFEMA exhibition grounds, with access from Avenida de la Capital de España.
Both areas are close to the M-11, one of the main access roads to this part of Madrid. Its location makes it possible to reach the circuit from different points in the city and also from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport.

However, the two sectors are not connected within the venue. If the ticket is for MADRING Norte, go directly to the northern area entrances. For MADRING Sur, the route must be made towards the IFEMA area.
How to get to MADRING by Metro
The Metro is one option for reaching both parts of the circuit. MADRING’s official connectivity map identifies lines 1, 4, 8 and 10 as part of the network that makes it possible to get close to the venue.
The nearest Metro stations to MADRING are:
Feria de Madrid, line 8.
Canillas, line 4.
Mar de Cristal, lines 4 and 8.
San Lorenzo, line 4.
Valdebebas.
Pinar de Chamartín, lines 1 and 4.
To get to MADRING Norte, the main reference points are San Lorenzo and Valdebebas.
San Lorenzo station is on line 4. From there it is about a 20-minute walk to the circuit. You can also continue the journey on buses T11 and 87.
Another possibility is to travel to Valdebebas, a station especially useful for accessing the northern area and also connected to the Cercanías network.
For MADRING Sur, the most practical stations are around IFEMA. They include Feria de Madrid, Mar de Cristal and Canillas.
From Feria de Madrid you can continue on buses 73, 104, 112, 120, 122 and 153. From Mar de Cristal and Canillas it is also possible to walk or continue by bus, depending on the relevant access point.

How to get to MADRING by Cercanías
If you use the Cercanías commuter train, the main reference point for MADRING Norte is Valdebebas station.
The station is connected to line C1, which links airport T4 with Chamartín and Clara Campoamor. This option is especially practical for those arriving in Madrid by plane.
MADRING’s official connectivity map also includes lines C2, C3, C4, C7, C8 and C10, which connect different points in the Comunidad de Madrid with the capital’s main stations.
The notable stations on the map include Sol, Atocha, Nuevos Ministerios, Chamartín and Aeropuerto T4.
If arriving from another area of Madrid, you can plan the journey by changing at one of these stations and then continuing towards the MADRING area.
How to get to MADRING by bus
EMT buses make it possible to get close to both the northern and southern sectors of the circuit. The official map shows several stops around the main MADRING access points.
Buses BR1, 171, 174, SE709, 87 and T11 run around the northern area.
In the southern area and around IFEMA, lines 73, 104, 112, 120, 122, 153 and U operate.
Some lines have several stops close to the venue. Note that the location of the stops shown on the map is indicative and may be changed for operational reasons during the Grand Prix.
Before travelling, it is advisable to consult the timetables, routes and possible changes through the official channels of EMT Madrid, Metro de Madrid and Cercanías Madrid.
How to get to MADRING from the airport
The circuit’s location makes travelling easier for those arriving in Madrid by plane. MADRING is near Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport.
From T4, you can use Cercanías line C1, which passes through Chamartín and Clara Campoamor and makes it possible to reach Valdebebas, one of the main reference points for accessing MADRING Norte.
Another option is to use Metro line 8, which connects the airport with Nuevos Ministerios and Feria de Madrid, located next to the southern sector of the circuit.
The most convenient option will depend on the sector indicated on the ticket.
How to get to MADRING by car
Those planning to come by car should bear in mind that there will be no general visitor car park inside the MADRING venue. There will only be dedicated spaces for people with reduced mobility at the northern and southern entrances.
The car park available for the rest of the public will be next to Riyadh Air Metropolitano. From there there will be a free shuttle service to MADRING during the Grand Prix.
The car park will be accessed from the M-40. When travelling north, it can be accessed via exits 9A and 9B. When travelling south, exit 10 must be used. It will also be possible to arrive from the A-2.
The parking space must be booked in advance. During the Grand Prix it will not be possible to buy it directly at the car park.
What to check before going to MADRING
The first thing to check before leaving is which MADRING sector the ticket corresponds to. The northern and southern areas are not connected within the circuit, so you need to go directly to the relevant entrance.
For MADRING Norte, the main reference points are Valdebebas and San Lorenzo. For MADRING Sur, the closest options are Feria de Madrid, Mar de Cristal and Canillas.
If you are going to use public transport, it is also advisable to check timetables and possible changes to the lines before travelling. During the Grand Prix, traffic around the circuit may be subject to changes and some bus stops may be temporarily relocated.
