Festive concerts in Puerta del Sol under strict security
Puerta del Sol is preparing to welcome the New Year with live music and DJs, but only 15,000 lucky people will be able to enjoy the show under strict police control.
On 30 and 31 December, the square will host concerts until midnight, with a capacity limit and supervised access. From 18:00, the metro and Cercanías exits will be closed, and around 660 officers will ensure everything runs safely.
From 21:00, the square will gradually be cleared so that the final countdown can take place without incident.
