Photo contest in El Retiro: they are looking for the best image of the park, with prizes of up to 1,400 euros

This summer, Parque del Retiro will not only be the setting for walks and afternoons in the sun, but also a source of inspiration for photographers from across the city. The Retiro district Municipal Board has launched the first ‘Retiro Fotográfico 2025’ competition, an initiative that seeks to capture the essence of this emblematic space and the district's buildings through the camera lens. The call will be open until 25 August and will award a total of €5,600 in prizes. Images may compete in two categories: ‘Buildings in the Retiro district’ and ‘Parks and gardens in the Retiro district’, with prizes of €1,400, €900 and €500 for first, second and third place in each.

A jury will select 40 finalist photographs, which, in addition to being eligible for a prize, will be displayed in a public exhibition at Sala Maruja Mallo, within the Municipal Board's headquarters. To take part, simply send images in JPEG or PNG format, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, to [email protected] or through the City Council's official portal (https://sede.madrid.es). An open invitation to look at Madrid with new eyes and portray its corners with creativity and emotion.
