Barcelona closes the L10 Sud during Holy Week and activates special buses until 6 April
The L10 Sud remains closed between ZAL | Riu Vell and Can Tries | Gornal until 6 April for improvement works, with a special bus stopping at every affected station and night-time alternatives during the holiday period.

The partial closure of the L10 Sud metro line during Semana Santa disrupts usual journeys in the southern area of Barcelona and L’Hospitalet. Since the start of the holiday weekend, the section between ZAL – Riu Vell and Collblanc has remained out of service due to infrastructure improvement works, an intervention intended to reinforce the network’s reliability during one of the periods of greatest urban mobility.
The section between Collblanc, Torrassa and Can Tries – Gornal remains in operation, as it shares tracks with the L9 Sud, which continues to operate normally. However, those needing to travel between ZAL – Riu Vell and Can Tries – Gornal must use the alternative services provided by TMB.
To cover the affected section, a special bus has been introduced connecting Can Tries – Gornal and ZAL – Riu Vell, stopping at all intermediate stations: Provençana, Ciutat de la Justícia, Foneria, Foc, Zona Franca, Port Comercial – la Factoria and Ecoparc. This service will run until 23:49 on Saturday night into Sunday and until 23:39 on Sunday night into Easter Monday.
In addition, regular lines V3 and 109 offer further alternatives. The V3 links Zona Franca with Ciutat de la Justícia, while the 109 connects Ecoparc and Foneria, making travel easier in neighbourhoods affected by the disruption.
At night, a night bus covers the route between Zona Franca and Can Tries – Gornal. On Saturday night into Sunday it runs without interruption, as the metro does on its usual timetable. Between Sunday and the public holiday Monday, the night service runs from 00:00 to 02:00, with the final departure from Zona Franca at 1:27.
The disruption will continue until the end of service on 6 April. On Sunday night, the 5th, the L9 Sud will end service at 24:00. Users can check up-to-date information through the usual channels to plan their journeys and avoid unforeseen problems.
The L10 Sud is one of the most recent lines in Barcelona’s metro network, designed to connect industrial and residential areas in the southern metropolitan area. Its underground route and integration with the L9 Sud allow efficient travel between neighbourhoods that have traditionally been less well connected. The maintenance works, while occasionally disruptive, are essential to guarantee the safety and modernisation of an infrastructure central to the daily lives of thousands of people.
