Decathlon opens on Consell de Cent with gifts for its first customers
Decathlon opens a new shop this Thursday 20 August in the heart of the Eixample, at 321 Consell de Cent. The opening will be at 17:00 and will come with gifts for the first customers and a special promotion during the first days of business.

The first 200 customers with a Decathlon account who make a purchase on opening day will receive a gift. The promotion will be limited to those first transactions, so anyone wishing to take advantage of it will need to visit the store from the start of the opening.
The opening will also have a second incentive. During the first week, purchases made while identifying oneself with a Decathlon account will generate double the usual points, an advantage that will remain in place during the store’s first few days of operation.
The store will operate under the Decathlon City format, designed for more central locations and purchases connected with everyday sport in the city. The selection will be particularly geared towards disciplines such as running, swimming, mountain sports, fitness, padel and football.
Its location on Consell de Cent places the shop in one of the busiest areas of the Eixample and makes it possible to access sports equipment without travelling to larger stores outside the centre. The format is specifically based on a more compact offering adapted to people who live, work or regularly get around the neighbourhood.
Normal opening hours will be Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 to 21:00, although during the summer it will close at 22:00. On public holidays when commercial opening is authorised, it will operate from 12:00 to 20:00.
With this opening, Decathlon reaches 20 stores in the province of Barcelona and 30 across Catalonia. The company is also expanding its retail footprint with the openings at Consell de Cent and Splau during August, while preparing another store in Sants for September.
The arrival on Consell de Cent reinforces an increasingly visible trend in Barcelona: large chains trying out neighbourhood formats on central streets and in densely populated districts. In this case, during its first few days the opening will bring together sports shopping, promotions and curious visitors entering the new Eixample premises.
