King Felipe VI's 2025 Christmas speech: new features and where to watch it
This Christmas Eve, King Felipe VI will address Spaniards with a different Christmas speech, featuring drones, new locations and surprising approaches to the year's most important events.
On 24 December, the monarch will deliver his traditional Christmas message. For the first time in several years, the recording will not take place at the Palacio de la Zarzuela, but at the Palacio Real de Madrid, giving it an air of greater solemnity.
The speech can be watched from 21:00 on all RTVE channels, on the main private channels (Antena 3, Telecinco, Cuatro, LaSexta), on regional television channels and on the Casa Real YouTube channel.
This year brings more new features: the king will not remain seated throughout the address, part of the speech will be delivered standing up, and the recording will have drone support, creating a continuous-shot effect.
Felipe VI is also expected to devote part of his message to Princess Leonor, heir to the throne, who this year has gained a greater institutional presence and is completing her final year of military training.
As is tradition, the king will close his message with a wish for hope and by reinforcing the values on which the country stands.
