Where to watch today’s Spain-Cape Verde match at the 2026 World Cup
Spain make their debut at the 2026 World Cup today, and the match comes at a convenient time to watch at home, on a big screen or online. The national team faces Cape Verde this Monday 15 June at 18:00, mainland Spanish time, in its first group-stage match.
The match can be watched free on La 1 on TVE. RTVE will broadcast all Spain's matches free-to-air during the tournament, so La Roja's opening match will be accessible to any viewer without the need to subscribe to a paid platform.
There will also be a free option online. RTVE Play will broadcast Spain-Cape Verde live and legally in Spanish territory, a useful alternative for those who want to follow it from a mobile phone, computer, tablet or connected television.
For those wanting access to the whole World Cup, the paid option is DAZN. The platform holds the rights to broadcast all 104 matches of the championship in Spain, including matches that are not free-to-air. Spain-Cape Verde will also be available as part of its World Cup coverage.
In Madrid, the main meeting point will be Plaza de Colón, turned into Plaza Selección during the tournament. For those who prefer to watch it without going too far, the simplest route remains free-to-air television. La 1 and RTVE Play cover the match free, while DAZN remains the alternative for following the whole tournament. The World Cup begins for Spain with several ways to watch it, but with the same time marked: six in the evening.
