The blue year: Pinterest reveals the trends that will shape 2026
Pinterest has presented its annual trend forecast for 2026 after analysing the evolution of its users' searches over the past two years.
The report, compiled from data collected between September 2023 and August 2025, paints a scenario dominated by contrasts: calm and visual coolness against fantasy, drama and aesthetic experimentation.
The big protagonist of next year will be cool blue. According to the platform, icy shades will prevail in fashion, make-up, design and even weddings. Searches related to “ice aesthetics”, “ice blue” and wedding dresses in cool tones have grown by between 35% and 55%, driven above all by Generation Z and millennials.
Alongside blue, Pinterest detects a rise in alien aesthetics: iridescent make-up, wet-look shine and futuristic references that offer an escape from the everyday. Classic accessories such as brooches are also returning, now reinterpreted in feminine and masculine looks, while poetcore, with romantic silhouettes and literary nods, is gaining strength.
The report also points to the consolidation of “vampiric romance”, with lace, velvet and dark shades, and of the experimental make-up known as Glitchy Glam, based on strong contrasts and asymmetries. Khaki will enter a new phase as a complete palette, while contemporary gothic, natural motifs and certain retro echoes will continue to influence global aesthetics.
For Pinterest, 2026 will be a year of freer visual identities, in which creativity will move between the ethereal and the extreme.
