Direct connection between Madrid and Málaga restored after nearly three months
The AVE service between Madrid and Málaga is back to normal. Since 30 April, trains have been running again without transfers, restoring a key direct route for thousands of travellers.
For almost three months, the works forced passengers to use buses and alternative routes, lengthening journey times and complicating travel. The reopening removes those stopovers and restores the usual convenience.
The service is being restored after repairs to the section affected by rain in the Álora area. Although there may be occasional adjustments in the first few days, the journey is once again direct between Madrid-Puerta de Atocha Almudena Grandes and Málaga-María Zambrano.
Tickets already reflect this change. Those with bookings can check their timetables and enjoy a simpler journey, without intermediate interruptions.
The reopening comes just before the high season, when the number of leisure trips and family visits rises. The corridor thus recovers its key role in mobility between the centre and the south.
