The Ayuntamiento de Madrid launches five research grants to work with cultural heritage
Madrid invites researchers to immerse themselves in the city's museums and archives by offering grants to study and promote cultural heritage.
The city has announced five grants for researchers who will work in municipal museums, archives and cultural centres. The programme's total fund amounts to €30,000: each grant is €6,000 for four months of work.
The projects cover five areas: the study of palaeontological collections, analysis of the press archive at the Museum of Madrid History, the development of communication and outreach strategies for the Museum of Contemporary Art, research into the documentary holdings of the 20th-century Villa Archive, and new methods of scientific visualisation at the Madrid Planetarium.
The initiative aims to support specialised research, improve access to cultural heritage and expand opportunities for disseminating knowledge. In the past, these grants have contributed to the study of architects, historic markets, art and ceramics collections, as well as Madrid's contemporary art.
