Barça plans an open training session at Camp Nou on 7 November
FC Barcelona is exploring the possibility of holding an open training session at Spotify Camp Nou on 7 November, an event that would mean the team’s first contact with its stadium since renovation works began.
The blaugrana club is preparing this event as a pilot test with spectators, taking advantage of the fact that it already has the 1A licence granted by the City Council, which allows a maximum capacity of 27,000 spectators. The training session, led by Hansi Flick, would be held two days before the match against Celta at Balaídos and would be reserved for club members.
Barça sources explain that “it is a very real possibility, although not one hundred per cent confirmed”. The session would serve as a dress rehearsal for the first team's return to Camp Nou, scheduled — if everything progresses as expected — for Saturday 22 November against Athletic Club.
At the same time, the club is awaiting a visit from municipal technicians to obtain the 1B licence, which would authorise an increase in capacity to 45,000 spectators. That would be the definitive step towards playing official matches again at the renovated stadium, where Barcelona will subsequently host Alavés (29 November) and Atlético de Madrid (2 December).
