The heat will keep bearing down on Barcelona throughout the weekend
Barcelona faces another fully summery weekend. Forecasts point to two days of stable conditions, mostly clear skies and temperatures again exceeding 30 degrees during the central hours of the day, while nights will remain warm and muggy.
Saturday will be dominated by sunshine and high temperatures. Thermometers will reach highs close to 31 or 32 degrees, although the proximity to the sea and high humidity will make it feel even hotter. Winds will be light, with a predominance of sea breezes in the afternoon.
Sunday will see little change. Skies will remain mostly clear, the weather dry, and it will be very warm both along the coast and inland in the metropolitan area. Highs will again be around 31 degrees and no rain is expected in the city.
Nights will continue to be one of the most uncomfortable aspects of the weekend. Lows will range between 24 and 26 degrees, maintaining the so-called tropical nights that make it hard to sleep, especially in more urbanised areas and homes with poor ventilation.
Although some models still suggest the possibility of greater instability next week, the risk of rain on Saturday and Sunday is very low. If storms do arrive, they are most likely to develop first in inland areas of Catalonia and not
affect the capital significantly.
Given this outlook, beaches, swimming pools, and air-conditioned spaces will once again attract much of the weekend activity. Authorities recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun during the hottest hours, staying hydrated, and paying special attention to the most vulnerable people, as the heat will continue to be one of the main features of summer in Barcelona.
