Camp Nou warms up: Barça prepares a public rehearsal before its great reunion

Before officially opening its doors with the traditional Trofeo Joan Gamper in August, the club will organise a pilot event with spectators in July—a kind of dress rehearsal to make sure everything runs smoothly.

It won’t be a match with points at stake, but there’s still a lot riding on it: a friendly will be simulated with volunteers as fans, to analyse in real time how entrances, exits, and movement inside the stadium work. For this partial reopening, around 60,000 spectators will be welcomed.

Barça doesn’t want to leave anything to chance. That’s why they’ll request to start the next league season away from home, so their return to Camp Nou—after a long wait and an ambitious transformation—can happen with full guarantees and a stadium that’s already up and running.

This rehearsal won’t be just another match. It will be the first ovation, the first wave, the first restrained roar from fans who are about to be reunited with their home. Even though it’s a simulation, it will be a return full of real emotion.
