Montigalà football ground gets an upgrade with new stands and state-of-the-art turf
Montigalà football ground, one of the most used sports facilities in Badalona, is set for a complete transformation. The City Council has launched a project worth 2.1 million euros to fully renovate the facilities.
The works involve replacing the current playing surface with new state-of-the-art artificial turf, adapted to current regulations and designed to offer better conditions for both training and competition.
One of the main new features will be the construction of a new prefabricated concrete stand. The structure will be 63 metres long, will have 470 seats and will also include two spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility.
The project also includes the installation of new electronic scoreboards for the eleven-a-side and seven-a-side football pitches, as well as the renewal of goals, benches, nets and other elements necessary for playing sport.
The improvements will not be limited to the playing surface. The irrigation system will be completely updated with new sprinklers and control equipment to optimise water consumption and make maintenance of the facilities easier.
The Montigalà pitch is one of the reference points for grassroots football in Badalona and hosts intense weekly activity with hundreds of players. The refurbishment seeks to respond to a long-standing demand and adapt the venue to current needs.
With these works, the municipality aims to make a qualitative leap in its sporting facilities and offer more modern, comfortable and accessible installations for clubs, families and fans.
