Canal de Isabel II opens its historic facilities for free visits
Canal de Isabel II celebrates its 175th anniversary with free guided visits. Madrid residents will be able to discover spaces normally closed. Places are limited and registration is already open. An opportunity to learn about the city's water heritage.
Madrid is unveiling a different and very special plan: Canal de Isabel II is opening its headquarters to the public for the first time to celebrate its 175th anniversary. The free guided visits allow you to tour the historic reservoirs and learn how the capital has been supplied with water since the 19th century.
The open days will take place on 21 and 22 March (Saturday and Sunday). There are two sessions daily: 10:00 and 12:00. Duration: 90 minutes. Places are limited: only 540 in total (allocated in order of registration).
Registration has been open since this Friday, 13 March, via the official Canal de Isabel II website.
