The Carné Joven in Madrid has grown by 12% and now has more than 744,000 users
The Carné Joven is gaining popularity in Madrid: more than half of the region’s young people already enjoy its discounts and benefits.
In the past year, the number of Carné Joven users in Madrid has increased by 12%, which means more than 78,000 new registrations. Currently, 744,161 young people in the region aged between 12 and 30 use this document, and almost one in two young people in Madrid already has the Carné Joven.
The Carné Joven gives access to discounts and benefits throughout Spain and in more than 40 European countries: transport, education, leisure, restaurants, fashion, museums, festivals, and amusement parks. Carné Joven holders can enjoy special offers at almost 2,000 establishments across different sectors.
The rise in the programme’s popularity is explained by its digital modernisation: the Carné Joven is available both in physical format and digitally through a mobile app with personalised and geolocated discounts.
Recently, the Carné Joven has been available from the age of 12, and all new and current cards now include travel insurance. The Carné Joven can be requested online through the administrative platform or at one of the 75 issuing points in the region.
